Quest 56 Journey (Sunday morning, 9:00am) The New Year brings new characters for us to look at! We are looking at the Bible as God's Book that He put together. He is the main character in the Bible even when He is not mentioned specifically. At the same time He included all kinds of people and their faith stories, so why? That is just one of the questions we ask. Others:

Why did God want us to see by showing us this person? Why would God show us the weakness of these men and women of faith? How do we live out our faith as a result of seeing how these men and women lived out theirs?....

Quest 56 Discover (Sunday morning, 10:30am) We are back in the swing of things as the new year is here. We are continuing the video series "Bible Stuff" with Kurt Johnston.

This 2nd hour program uses the video as a springboard to raise some questions and encourage discussion among the 56ers about their faith.

  Lessons from Bible Stuff:

A camel, a needle and a rich guy; The most important word that you hardly ever use; Jesus; Paul who?; Jesus calms the storm.

Quest 56 eXperience (Wednesday nights, 6:30pm) Fun, Food, Friends and Faith is the continuing mode for these evenings with the 56ers. We get our inspiration for the lessons from the life of Christ. Families are invited to come early (6pm) and get some food from the Big Tree Cafe (pizzas, coffee, shakes, smoothies, big soft pretzels). It is a nice chance to not have to rush around for a quick meal and rush out the door.  We are going through Jesus' Sermon on the Mount as the Scripture for the month. The challenge is to take Jesus' challenge and be salt, be a light, have a beatitude and etc.

Scavenger Hunt  Wednesday, February 1    This is becoming a tradition for Quest 56. There will be a sign up sheet posted soon for you and your friends to sign up on. We break into teams, hop into a car with a list and a digital camera and come back with a ton of pictures. If interested in driving, please contact Dave or Alan.

Memory/Scripture Challenge: Our challenge each month will include a passage of Scripture to memorize and sections of the Bible to read. This month, memorize Deuteronomy 6:4-9.

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them down on the door frames of your houses and on your gates."

Bible reading options: New Testament—Acts1-28, Old Testament—Ezra 1-10, Nehemiah 1-13, Esther 1-10, Job 1-42, Psalm 21-48, Psalms 81-100
