Moments

I've been thinking a lot lately about that call on our lives:  to share ourselves with others in a way that reflects the way Jesus lived when He was here-intentionally and relationally and purposefully.

As we've pondered those ideas of "intentional" and "relational" as a We Women's leadership team, we'd like to try something new to give opportunities for more intentional relationship-building...both among women within Oakwood, as well as with girlfriends who don't and/or wouldn't attend Oakwood.

Rather than starting another weekly "program" that only adds to exhausted calendars (!), we want to periodically offer Moments, which are one-time, low-key, "just hang out together"-type of experiences that are affinity-based. One of those Moments happened this past fall when we had a Scrapbooking Moment. If you liked to scrapbook, this was a chance to be together with other women who also like to scrap, as well as some time to build relationships with other women. It's intentional, for sure...but in an authentic, organic kind of way!

So here's my question. What do you like to do that you'd enjoy sharing with other women? Some of you have talked about a Knitting Moment; some of you have expressed a desire to do something athletic. Anyone up for orchestrating a one-time Moment for women's volleyball...or participating together in a charity run this spring...or cake decorating...or getting the most out of your scroll saw...? If so, email me at Elizabeth@oakwoodnow.org; let's chat!

As a disciplemaking ministry, our purpose is simple: to create environments and offer resources that allow women to naturally and intentionally build relationships, so that  they can influence life-change and growth. Not to mention the fact that we love doing that in the middle of having fun and enjoying the journey together!

Happy New Year!

Celebrating Christ above all,
